About Dr. Arabinda Sahoo

Dr. Arabinda Sahoo is an Assistant Professor in Philosophy. He completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has done his M.A. and M.Phil. in Philosophy from University of Hyderabad. In his M.Phil and Ph.D he has done his research on the area of Philosophy of Action. He was awarded Erasmus Mundus Fellowship to pursue Master Degree on Applied Ethics at Linkopings University, Sweden and Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway. His area of interest includes Action Theory (Philosophy of Human Action), Logic and Legal Reasoning, Applied Ethics and Moral Psychology. He has been teaching at National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi since December 2010.

He has completed his B.Sc. (Criminology & Forensic Science) (1993), LL.B. (1996), LL.M. (Mercantile Law) with First Rank (1998), Ph.D. in Consumer Law under UGC Fellowship, 2006from Karnataka University; NET (2000); NCC “C” Certificate (1992); NSS Certificate (1993); Diploma in Cyber Law; Accredited Mediator.

He was practised before High Court of Karnataka till 1999. He has 25 years of teaching experience. He worked as a Lecturer and Principal at KLEs Bellad Law College, Belgaum, from 1999 to 2008. He joined NLSIU in August 2008 as an Associate Professor and administered the Chair on Consumer Law & Practice which was established by Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India. He was promoted as a Professor in 2011. He was also Founder Director of ‘Online Consumer Mediation Centre’ (OCMC) at NLSIU. He took charge of Vice Chancellor, NUSRL, Ranchi in June 2023. He has presented a research papers in the International conferences in more than 15 countries. He has conducted many training programs for Consumer Commission Members, Government Officers, Consumer Club Teachers, NGOs, Students and Mediators. His area of specialization is Consumer Welfare Laws, Law of Torts, Mediation and Insurance Law.

About Dr. Avinash Kumar

Dr. Avinash joined NUSRL in 2021 as an Assistant Professor of Law. Before this, since 2017 he was teaching in CHRIST University Bengaluru as an Assistant Professor of Law. His broad interests include Criminal Law, Corporate and Constitutional Law. Published more than fifteen articles in leading National and International Journals. He has written a book “SURROGACY Legal, Ethical, and Social Perspectives” published in 2023.

About Ms. Dipshi Swara

Working as a faculty of Law at NUSRL, Ranchi.

Pursuing PhD from CNLU Patna in the area of Juvenile Justice. Area of specialisation is Human Rights Law. Other than Human Rights Law, the interest and expertise extends to environmental law and wildlife conservation, wherein I have carried out research projects. Also, hold publications in the areas of Environmental law, Law of Contracts and Law on Juvenile. Have taught subjects like Human Rights Law, Family Law, Environmental Law, Legal History and Air and Space Law. Serving as the Faculty Convenor at NLU Ranchi’s Centre for Gender Justice, wherein we also lead awareness programs.

About Dr. Hiral Mehta Kumar

Dr. Hiral Mehta Kumar is a five – year law graduate from University of Mumbai. She has earned her LL.M. in Business Laws from Symbiosis Law School, Pune and her Ph.D. from NUSRL, Ranchi. She is presently serving as Assistant Professor of Law and Director, IQAC at NUSRL. Her areas of interest are Business Laws and Mining Laws. She has been a faculty since June 2012 at NUSRL. She has steered the University’s Moot Court Programme since the beginning and has successfully conducted the first two editions of NUSRL National Trial Advocacy Competition as well as the 1st NUSRL OP Jalan Memorial National Taxation Moot Court Competition. She presently chairs the Centre for Business Laws and is also the Convenor of the Cultural Club at NUSRL. She is an avid reader and loves to travel.

About Dr. Julian Seal Pasari

Dr. Julian Seal Pasari is an Assistant Professor in Law with extensive academic experience. She obtained her LL.B. degree from Calcutta University and practiced law for about three years at the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi. Following which, she completed her LL.M. degree from The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, where she was honored with the prestigious S. Gopalkrishnan Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Later she also completed Ph.D. in International Criminal Law from the same University. Dr. Pasari has contributed extensively to legal literature with publications in reputable journals. Her areas of interest include Criminal Law and Constitutional Law.
