About Dr. Anandkumar R Shindhe

Dr. Anandkumar R Shindhe is an Associate Professor of Law and Controller of Examinations at the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi (NUSRL). Dr. Shindhe holds a B.A.LL.B degree from a law college affiliated to Karnataka University, and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the P.G. Department of Studies in Law, Karnataka University. He has qualified the University Grants Commission (UGC) NET exam. He obtained a Ph.D. in the area of Consumer Law from the Hem Chandra charya North Gujarat University Patan, Gujarat in the year 2016. Dr. Shindhe has completed an Orientation Course from the UGC Academic Staff College Saurashtra University Rajkot and a Refresher Course offered by HRDC Gujarat University.

Before joining NUSRL, he was associated with the Institute of Law, Nirma University (ILNU), situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for 14 years and 7 months as Assistant Professor of Law. During his tenure at ILNU, he held the position of Head of the Department of Law for over four years and as Head of Department, Corporate and Intellectual Property Law branch, for over four years. He was actively involved in various academic and administrative committees of ILNU. Additionally, he served as Institute Level Coordinator for the Centre for Continuing Education, Nirma University, for more than five years.

During his tenure at ILNU, Dr. Shindhe held the position as Faculty Advisor and Centre Head of the Centre for Corporate Research for over two years and later joined the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, where he served for several years. He has acted as editor of Law Journals published by these two centres and as co-editor of Nirma University Law Journal.   He was a member of the Research Advisory Committee and Research Development Committee of the Ph.D. department of ILNU. At ILNU, he was part of various organizing committees for seminars, workshops, and moot courts.

  • Invited to Chair a Technical Session in a two-day Conference titled “Intellectual Property and Society: Bridging Innovation and Public Interest” on 24th April 2025 Organized by ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad.
  • Invited to Chair a Technical Session in a “One-day National Workshop on Standard Essential Patents” held on April 17, 2025 organized by National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi in collaboration with Kommit-Techno Legal LLP 
  • Presented a paper titled “ Green Consumerism: Evaluating the Existing Policy Framework and proposing innovative strategies to Protect Sustainable Consumption in India” in the National Seminar on Consumer Protection and Consumerism in India: Changing Contours of Law and Practice held on 25th August 2023 at the ICFAI University, Jharkhand.
  • Received Best Paper Award for a paper titled “Bibliometric visualization and analysis of India’s most cited paper on environmental justice”, presented in the International Conference on Environmental Justice conducted by Centre for Environmental Law and Policy Faculty of Law, University of Colombo Sri Lanka on 25th and 1st September 2023.
  • Presented a paper titled “A Review of Gujarat’s Renewable Energy Policy and Implementation”, in the International Conference on Energy Trilemma: Emerging Laws, Trending Solutions and Exploring the Way Forward Organized by the Centre for Energy Law, Policy and Strategy, Institute of Lw Nirma University, Ahmedabad on March 10-11, 2022.
  • Presented a paper titled “Public Interest and Non-working of Patents”, in International Conference on “Recent Advances in Intellectual Property Law”, held at Parul Institute of Law, Faculty of Law, Parul University, Vadodara, on 28th April 2018.
